IBNA- Veteran Iranian writer, translator journalist and sociologist Anvar Khamei died last night in Rejaei Hospital of Karaj due to respiratory failure. He was 102.
According to IBNA correspondent, based on Khamei’s will, his body was sent to Medical Sciences Faculty of Tehran University for medical research.
Khamei wrote many books in his specialty fields, including his analytical and critical book ‘Revisionism from Marx to Mao Tse-Tung’. He was a university professor at the Université catholique de Louvain in Belgiumand a UNESCO fellow.
Khamei was an activist of the Tudeh Party (Party of Masses) of Iran in the 1940s, but he quit in January 1948 and concentrated on his journalistic and academic activities.
He has books on a number of Iranian writers and theatricians including Sadegh Hedayat, Abdol-Hossein Noushin and Zabih Behrouz.
