IBNA – On the “Book Touring Day” held on Thursday, CEO of Iran’s Book House Institute, Majid Gholami Jaliseh accompanied Culture Minister Reza Salehi Amiri in visiting some bookshops in Tehran.
According to IBNA correspondent, following two earlier editions of “Book Touring” program held in the years 2014 and 2015, which was organized and held by former Culture Minister of Iran Ahmad Masjed Jame`i, the authorities and the people interested in books and publication went to bookshops to encourage the book and reading culture in the society.”
They started their tour from Agah Bookshop and the Book Market, and some other bookstores like Dar al-Ketab-e Eslamieh, Ghoghnous and Akhtaran were their next destinations.
About this event, Gholami Jaliseh talked to our correspondent and said: “One of the plans that we have followed for two years is the issue of popularizing the Books Week. “Book Touring” program somehow encourages the people to show greater presence in the area of books and reading and one of the places which can play an effective role in this respect is bookstore.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, Jaliseh said: “This movement was warmly welcomed by the public due to its popular nature, and we are witnessing an ever-growing development of this movement every year. This is the right move to make the Books Week more prevalent.”
