IBNA- Describing the achievements of his recent visit to Russia, Head of Iran’s National Library Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri referred to the documents showing 515 years of relations between Iran and Russia.
In an interview with IBNA, Head of the National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) Salehi Amiri described the achievements of his visit to Russia and said: “According to the current agreements, we have close cooperation with 57 national libraries and 53 national archives around the world among which Russia is considered a developed country both in the terms of libraries and archives and to which we have taken a trip in recent days to strengthen mutual cultural cooperation.”
“The Center for Scriptural Heritage Studies of Iran and Islam at St. Petersburg is affiliated to Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences which has been working for 198 years now,” he pointed out.
“To commemorate this long history in the field of Iranian Studies, we agreed to hold an international conference in the year 2018 on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the establishment of this institute in St. Petersburg. This indicates how much attention Russia pays to Iran and the issue of Iranian Studies,” Head of NLAI added.
About signing a memorandum with the National Archives of Russia, Salehi Amiri stated: “According to the agreement, it was decided that we can get virtual and digital copies of the documents about Iran in the National Archives of Russia and St. Petersburg, and mutually offer them the available documents about Russia in our historical sources, for making copies.”
