IBNA- Visiting the 28th Tehran International Book Fair, noted translator and researcher Khashayar Deihimi said that Iran’s Publishers Association has effectively engaged in the fair and we see a better management in holding the Fair.”
In an interview with IBNA, Deihimi said: “Tehran International Book Fair has been a very important cultural event which I visit every year. Currently, I’ve visited some stands and am going to see the rest.”
He praised the presence of the Publishers Association in managing the fair this year, after many years
“In my opinion, this event has been held better compared with the past years since it has a better organization and people are much more eager to visit the stands than they were in previous years. This is something positive and encouraging,” he said.
About the slogan of the exhibition “Reading, Dialogue with the World”, the scholar stated: “This slogan should be realized in practice; unfortunately, the weak part of the exhibition is the foreign, or international section. So, if the discussion is a dialogue with the world, better quality books must come to the exhibition.”
About books presented in the exhibition as first printing, Deihami said: “New works were abundant with regard to title, but unfortunately the majority of books have a poor quality of translation.”
