IBNA- A jury panel at Iran's Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) selected the works of 15 Iranian artists for the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava 2021 scheduled for October 2021.
Members of the jury panel were Fashid Mesghali, Sahar Tarhandeh, Ali-Reza Goldouzian, Kamal Tabataba’i and Ali Bouzari has selected the illustrations- among the total of 80 submitted works- to be showcased in the exhibition, public and international department of ICIDCYA reported.
The illustrations are: ‘Tell the Rhinoceros to Go Away’ and ‘King and the Moon’, both by Pedram Kazerouni; ‘Birds and the Sky’ by Mohammad-Ali Baniasadi, ‘So Far Away’ by Noushin Sadeghian, ‘Draw a Man’ by Mitra Abdollahi and ‘Am I Sleeping or Awake?’ by Samaneh Salavati all published by Iran's Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults.
The other works include: ‘You Are an Explorer’ by Ghazal Fathollahi; ‘The World Is Mine’ by Haleh Ghorbani; ‘Where are you Lili?’ by Taravat Jalali, all published by Fatemi Publishing; ‘Valentin de Toutes les Couleurs’ by Reza Dalvand released by the French publisher Des Elephants; 'A Friend Is better or a Muffin?' and ‘Machucheh and Crow’ both by Mohammad-Hossein Matak published by Iran's Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults; and ‘Simorgh’ (Phoenix) by Mohammad Bar-Rangi published by Madreseh Publishing.
La Piccola Pittrice” by Feresteh Najafi published by the Brazilian publisher Coccole Books; ‘The Rabbits of the Spring of the Moon’ by Amir Sha’banipour; ‘Seven Ordeals of Rostam’ by Atieh Markazi; ‘Aunti Beetle’ and ‘Mother’ by Hoda Haddadi are among the other works.
The Biennial of Illustration Bratislava (BIB) is one of the oldest international honors for children's book illustrators. First granted in 1967 to Yasuo Segawa (Japan), it is one of the more prestigious children's book awards today, along with the Hans Christian Andersen Awards.
