As well as a selection of Shore's own work, the book contains images from throughout the history of photography, from works by the fathers of photography to that of artists working with the medium today. It covers a range of genres, as well as images by unknown photographers.
A regular at Andy Warhol's Factory at the age of 17, the work of Stephen Shore (b.1947) has been exhibited in numerous museums worldwide and influenced generations of photographers.
In 2017, the Museum of Modern Art staged a major retrospective. Since 1982 he has been the Director of the Photography Program at Bard College, New York where he is now the Susan Weber Professor in the Arts.
