IBNA- At a meeting in Hyderabad, Pakistan a number of Pakistani experts considered the influence of the legendary Iranian poet and mystic Mowlana Jalal al-Din Rumi on Sufi mysticism on Saturday, December 21.
According to IBNA correspondent quoting from Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the program was held in cooperation with the Pakistan Writers Guild at Iran’s Cultural Center in Hyderabad.
The experts who attended the event included: A faculty member of Language and Literature Department in Sindh University Jamshoro, Noor Ahmed Janjhi; author Ali Akash; and an scholar of Persian literature Sahar-Gul Bhatti.
Reciting some poems by Rumi, Janjhi referred to the translation of his works into many languages and his influence on mysticism, thought and literature throughout the world.
Bhatti who has translated a selection of Rumi’s poems into Sindhi, for her part recited his poems and elaborated on the mystical aspects of Mowlana’s poetry.
