IBNA- The third program from the series of cultural meetings held by Iran's Cultural Attaché in Germany titled "Influence of Iranian Knowledge and Art on Andalusia" was held in Berlin.
According to IBNA correspondent quoting from the public relations office of Sa'di Foundation in Tehran, the event was from the series of cultural meetings, "A Night With German Writers” held in cooperation with Sa'di Foundation. The program also featured the unveiling ceremony of the book 'Iran and Al-Andalus: Water Constructions and Paradisiacal Gardens in Ancient Iran'.
A short film about Iranian historical sites and works as well as ancient Iranian architecture was also the screened in the meeting.
Isabel Blanco del Piñal, the German author of 'Iran and Al-Andalus: Water Constructions and Paradisiacal Gardens in Ancient Iran' made a speech about Persian gardens and science of water in ancient Iran. She also described the resemblance of gardens in Andalusia with Persian gardens.
The expert referred to ancient Iranian Qanat- a gently sloping underground channel to transport water from an aquifer or water well to surface for irrigation and drinking- which was a practical method of supplying water.
At the end of the meeting, the German and Iranian attendants held a Q&A session on the discussed issues.
