Referring to the foreign relations aspect of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF), Iran’s Culture Minister Seyyed Abbas Salehi said that this event provides an opportunity for boosting our international, political and economic ties.
According to IBNA correspondent, quoting from the public relations department of Iran's Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, yesterday, Seyyed Abbas Salehi visited the Mosalla of Imam Khomeini where will host the 32nd Tehran International Book Fair.
Considering the preparation measures being taken for holding the event, Salehi said: “TIBF is not an ordinary fair, but it's a special huge event for all those interested in culture. Indeed, our efforts are aimed to join forces to hold a national cultural event.”
“Tehran International Book Fair has always been important from various aspects, but for the year 2019, it will be even more important because of its impact on book business. Every year it provides a great opportunity for Iranian publishers to do business, however, this year due to a new wave of unfair economic sanctions imposed on our country, the Iranian publishers are obviously more expectant and hopeful about the economic aspect of TIBF,” he stated.
“Having said that, we should hold the 32nd Tehran International Book Fair even more efficiently than its previous editions and provide facilities both for the publishers and people,” culture Minister added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Salehi said: “As well as cultural and economic aspects, the issue of developing cultural diplomacy is also significant in Tehran Book Fair. In fact, being active in the field of books and publishing gives us an international prestige. Having a guest of honor in all editions of Tehran Book Fair strengthens its international feature as this year China will be our guest of honor. So, having a passionate cultural milieu thwarts the attempts of some countries to isolate Iran.
Tehran International Book Fair is the greatest Iranian book event held annually. The 32nd edition of this event will be held on April 24 to May 4 in the Mosalla of Imam Khomeini in Tehran.
