IBNA– Following bilateral talks between Iran and Ukraine, the agreement of establishment of Iran library in Vernadsky Library was signed between the two parties.
According to IBNA correspondent, quoting from the public relations office of Iran’s National Library and Archives Organization, Iran’s Ambassador to Ukraine Mohammad Beheshti Monfared met with Director General of Vernadsky National Library Vladimir Popik, and the two sides reviewed the issues of bilateral cooperation in research activities and starting relations between the national libraries of the two countries.
An agreement for the establishment of Iran Library within Vernadsky Library was also signed between the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the National Library of Ukraine. The library is to be equipped with the collaboration of the Embassy of Iran in Ukraine.
Vernadsky library, with over three thousand volumes of books and journals in various fields of Persian education, history, literature, geography, architecture, art and Children’s Books, can fulfill a part of research requirements of Ukrainian and Iranian professors and scholars and serve as a useful source to introduce the history, culture, literature, art and achievements of Iran.
It is also interesting to note that Vernadsky Library boasts over 15 million volumes of books and four thousand members, and about 350 people attend this library on a daily basis.
