IBNA- Concurrent with the Books Week, Director General of Italian Publishers Association and his accompanying delegation attended Iran’s National Library, visited various sections and met with Deputy Director of the library Gholam-Reza Amirkhani.
According to IBNA correspondent, quoting from the Public Relations of the National Library and Archives of Iran, Director General of the Italian Publishers Association and a number of the members of this association visited the Museum of Books and Documentary films, and closely watched the precious items stored in this area.
Also, related information on membership and service to clients was provided to the visitors. After the visit, the Italian group met with Deputy Director of the library Gholam-Reza Amirkhani during which he welcomed the Italian guests and pointed to the shared cultural roots between the two countries and the need to promote the cultural relations, especially in the fields of books and archival documents.
The Italian group also expressed their pleasure at their presence in that cultural location saying that they were surprised at the existence of such a great place. They made a request to hold an exhibition of Italian books on Iranian studies and Islamic heritage at the Museum of books and documentaries, which was welcomed by Amirkhani.
Deputy Director of Iran’s National Library stressed that this library has become a center for cultural events in the recent years and it is a suitable place for exchanging cultural insights and works.
