IBNA- A collection of love poems by noted Russian poet, musician and novelist Mikhail Kuzmin titled ‘Alexandrian Songs’ has been translated into Persian and released.
According to IBNA correspondent, the book has been translated into Persian by Babak Shahab and released by Hekmat-e Kalameh publishing in Tehran.
‘Alexandria Songs’ is a small compilation of works by one of the prominent contributors to the Silver Age of Russian Poetry.
was one of the few Russian poets who was not engaged with social problems and almost based his entire poems on the subject of love.
His level of craftsmanship was valued by so many leading writers of his time, including Mandelstam, Akhmatova, Pasternak, Mayakovsky, Meyerhold, and Blok.
Contemporary poet and critic Alexei Purin thinks the openly "tragic," socially oriented tradition of Russian literature has been exhausted and it needed to reorient itself along the more personal and artistic tradition exemplified by Kuzmin and Vladimir Nabokov.
‘Alexandrian Songs’ in Persian has been published in 132 pages and 300 copies.
