‘The English Patient’ available to Iranian readers

IBNA- ‘The English Patient’, the masterpiece novel by Sri Lanka-born Canadian author Michael Ondaatje, on a tragic romance set in the World War II has been translated into Persian and published.
According to IBNA correspondent, the Booker Prize-winning novel has been translated into Persian by Niloufar Sarhadi and released by Jomhouri Publishing in Tehran.
‘The English Patient’
traces the intersection of four damaged lives in an Italian villa at the end of World War II. Hana, the exhausted nurse; the maimed thief, Caravaggio; the wary sapper, Kip: each is haunted by the riddle of the English patient, the nameless, burned man who lies in an upstairs room and whose memories of passion, betrayal, and rescue illuminate this book like flashes of heat lightning.
Philip Michael Ondaatje
is a Sri Lanka-born Canadian poet, fiction writer, essayist, novelist, editor and filmmaker. He is the recipient of multiple literary awards such as the Governor General's Award, the Giller Prize, the Booker Prize, and the Prix Médicis étranger. Ondaatje is also an Officer of the Order of Canada, recognizing him as one of Canada's most renowned living authors.
‘The English Patient’ in Persian has been published in 1000 copies.
