Front cover of ‎‘40 Sermons of Zainab’ ‎ ‎and ‎‘Lady of Naynava’ ‎
According to IBNA correspondent, the books ‘Lady of Naynava’ by Baha’adin Gharamni-Nejad and ‘40 Sermons of Zainab’ by Hassan Babaei which have been recently published, focus on the life, sacrifices and achievements of Zainab (SA), the daughter of Imam Ali (AS), the fourth Caliph of Islam and the granddaughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Like other members of her family she became a great figure of sacrifice, strength, and piety in Islam – in the Sunni and Shi‘i sects of the religion. When her brother, Imam Hossein, stood up against the tyrant Yazid ibn Mu‘awiyah in 680 CE (61 AH), Zaynab accompanied him. She played an important role in protecting the life of her nephew, Imam Ali ibn Al-Hossein.

A larger sermon attributed to Zaynab in which she condemns Yazid and many of his actions, specifically focusing on his treatment of the household of Muhammad. The sermon is very eloquent and is reminiscent of the work in the Quran's exegesis, Zaynab did with other women in Medina and Kufa.

In Iran, her birthday is recognized as Nurse's Day because she nursed children such as Husayn's son Ali among others, but also because of her taking care of those wounded in the Battle of Karbala. Zaynab passed away in 681 CE, and her Masjid is located in Damascus, Syria.

‘Lady of Naynava’ has been released in 232 pages and 1000 copies by Bain ul-Mellal (International) Print and Publishing House. ‘40 Sermons of Zainab’ has been released by Simay-e Ofogh Publishing in 184 pages and 1000 copies.
