IBNA- The Persian translation of ‘Introduction to Metaphysics’ by Martin Heidegger will ‎be reviewed at a program from the series of weekly meetings held by Tehran’s Book City on ‎Tuesday, September 25. ‎
According to IBNA correspondent, the book has been translated into Persian by Ensha’ Allah Rahmati and released by Sophia publishing in Tehran. ‘Introduction to Metaphysics’ features Heidegger’s discourse-lessons in summer 1935 at the University of Freiburg which has been described by the author as the second volume of the book, ‘Being and Time’ (1927).

The book puts forward the question of being in an innovative manner with a consideration of its philosophical, political and ethical aftermaths. According to Heidegger, the fundamental question of metaphysics is "why are there beings at all instead of nothing?

From this fundamental question Heidegger extracts a prior question about the relation to Being; or "How does it stand with Being? This is to be answered through an analysis of Greek poetry, the etymology of the word being and of the answers given by philosophers such as Parmenides, Heraclitus, Aristotle, and Immanuel Kant.

The meeting will be attended by Rahmati and Iranian experts Bijan Abdolkarimi and Hossein Kalbasi Ashtari in the Cultural Center of Tehran’s Book City on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
