Int’l Conference of Imam Mohammad Al-Ghazali due

IBNA- The Islamic Madhahib University in Tehran in cooperation with Amanat Scientific-Cultural Foundation in Indonesia will hold the Int’l Conference of Imam Mohammad Al-Ghazali in Jakarta.
According to IBNA
correspondent, scheduled for January 18 to 20, titled “The Role and Contributions of Imam Mohammad Al Ghazali
in Building a Peaceful and Harmonious World Civilization”, the event has been organized to consider the ideas and work of this great Iranian theologist, philosopher and mystic of the 11th
century A.D. Abū Ḥāmid Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Ghazali.
The conference will be attended by the eminent scholars of the Islamic world such as Saeid Aqil Siradj from Indonesia; Sheikh Muhammad Mahmud Abu Hasyim from Egypt; Yasir al-Ghadhmani from Syria; Aziz Abedin (Ph.D.) from the United States; Ibrahim Abdolaev (Ph.D.) from Russia and Mazin Sharif (Ph.D.) from Tunisia.
From Iran, the Head of the Islamic Madhahib University Mohammad Hossein Mokhtari (Ph.D.) is at the helm of a delegation which will take part in the event. The Borobudur Hotel in Jakarta will host the three-day conference.
Al-Ghazali’s work was extremely influential in turning medieval Muslim thought away from Aristotelianism
, philosophical speculation and theological debate. He also contributed significantly to the development of a systematic view of Sufism and to its integration and acceptance in mainstream Islam.
