Book on Shamlou’s Poetry published in Italy

IBNA– A book addressing the celebrated Iranian poet Ahmad Shamlou’s innovations and achievements in the development of Persian literature has just been published in Italy.
According to IBNA
correspondent, this book which is called ‘Persian Rebellious Poet’, written by Nahid Norouzi, is released in a collection titled ‘The Tavern of the Eastern Literature Circle’. It is a research work released in 346 pages by Create Space Publishing.
The introduction of the work is centered on the change in modern Persian and describes the life and works of some other poets such as Nima Yushij
who had a great influence on Ahmad Shamlou
Focusing on the life of Shamlou, Norouzi analyzes his poetry and conveys the outcome to the Italian reader by translating some of Shamlou’s poems in this book. There is also an introduction by Mauritius Silvio Pisteos about the contemporary Persian Poetry at the beginning of the book.
Ahmad Shamlou died on July 23, 2000, and his poems have been translated into Swedish, English, Japanese, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Armenian, Dutch, Romanian, Finnish, Kurdish and Turkish.
Nahid Norouzi had also translated the selected poems of Sohrab Sepehri
into Italian, which was published by Esad Publications, in Rome.
In the recent years, Italian universities and translators have paid attention to Persian poetry and published some of the works of the famous contemporary Persian poets in Italy.
