correspondent, at the opening ceremony of the Belgrade Book Fair
which is a slated for October 22-29, Iran’s Cultural Attaché to Serbia, the representatives of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute, ambassadors and representatives of several European, Asian and North American countries were present.
The event is underway in an area of 30,000 square meters as 500 exhibitors from 50 countries all across the world will display their books to the visitors. The Iranians stand takes 75 square meters presenting 550 books in Persian, English and Serbian languages as well as the handcrafted stationery, calligraphy and illustrating workshops.
10 Iranian writers and artists in addition to the representatives of our country’s publishing industry have also attended the book fair.
From 2002, this book fair appoints a country as the guest of honor and in 2016 and this year four German-language countries, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein were the guests of honor at this event.
As the major book event in the Eastern Europe, Belgrade International Book Fair is one of the long-standing book fairs in Europe and the world which aims to assist the publishers, writers, librarians, booksellers, distributors, multimedia companies and other groups involved in the print industry.
the main goal of helping publishers, authors, booksellers, librarians, book distributors, multimedia companies, and other people in the business establish contacts, exchange experiences, make business deals, and start other forms of business and cultural cooperation. All Serbian and the most prominent regional publishers choose to present their annual publishing work each year at the Fair.
