Joining the Berne Convention requires internal consensus

IBNA- In his weekly press briefing with journalists, the spokesman of Iran’s Culture Ministry said that Joining conventions like Berne and Rome which support authors and literati rights requires internal consensus of state officials.
According to IBNA correspondent, the weekly press conference of Hosssein Noushabadi, Spokesman of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance was held on Monday, August 1 at the Conference Hall of Azadi Tower in Tehran with Director General of Roudaki Cultural Foundation Ali Akbar Safipour in attendance.
In this meeting, Noushabadi announced the unveiling of the Cyrus Charter of Human Rights in near future and said: “This is the first time that this charter will be unveiled in Azadi Tower.”
He pointed out the features of Azadi Tower complex and said: “This place is an indicator of the brilliant history of Iran; a period when Iran excelled in literature, art, architecture and handicrafts.”
Saying that the Azadi Tower has been registered as a national monument, he added: “More attention must be paid to this Iranian-Islamic symbol. To do this, substantial funds are required for its protection.”
He continued: “Our friends in the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Art Foundation of Roudaki have paid for the related expenses, but it’s not enough. Therefore, other departments should take steps in this direction as well.”
