IBNA- Associate Professor of the Department of Culture and Ancient Languages in Tehran University Mahmoud Jafari announced the publication of the book “Guide to Middle Persian inscriptions (Sassanid Pahlavi).

In an interview with IBNA on his recently published book “Guide to Middle Persian inscriptions (Sassanid Pahlavi)”, Dr. Mahmoud Jafari Dahqi said: “The book is published by The Iranian Organization of Research and Composing Textbooks on Humanities (SAMT) in which I tried to collect the inscriptions related to Middle Persian, and I also considered a words index for it.”
These inscriptions are very important from political and historical point of view and were written during the reign of certain rulers and are particularly important because of the time they were written at. It may be said that inscriptions are not liable to change and we have received them almost in the same state they were first formed, he added.
This Associate Professor of the Department of Culture and Ancient Languages further continued: “Guide to Middle Persian inscriptions (Sassanid Pahlavi) refers to inscriptions such as Naqsh- Rostam in Kazeroun, the Kaaba of Zoroaster in Sar-Mashhad, Kazeroun and Eghlid, Bishapur, Kermanshah, the bilingual inscription in Radkan, Gorgan, in the Caucasus and even to China.”
