Doha Book Fair kicks off as Iran participating

IBNA- The 30th Doha International Book Fair kicked of today as Iranian representatives have participated in the event.
According to IBNA correspondent, quoting from the public relations office of Iran's Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI), the 30th Doha International Book Fair (DIBF) opened with Qatar's Minister of Culture and Sports H E Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, Head of Iran's Research Center of Culture, Art and Communications Mohammad Solgi and Iran's cultural attaché to Qatar as well as the representatives of Iranian publishers and institutes.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports under the supervision of the Qatar Cultural and Heritage Events Center, the book fair is underway at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
The Fair is being held under the slogan “Do you then not ponder?”, with the participation of 335 publishing houses from 31 countries.
Coinciding with the launch of the Qatar-France 2020 Year of Culture 2020, France is the guest of honor at Doha International Book Fair 2020. The Fair will also witness the largest participation from private Qatar publishing houses.
There will be discounts on books up to 25 percent, as agreed with the publishing houses. The number of the pavilions of Arabic books is 559, represented by 228 publishing houses, and the number of foreign pavilions is 91 pavilions represented by 35 foreign publishers.
The Fair will be held from 9am until 9pm, except on Friday when it will be open from 3pm until 10pm, while on Thursday, all activities will be held from 9am to 10pm.
DIBF is regarded as a platform to exchange cultural diversity and a space to inspire dialogue and share knowledge. Around 13 training workshops will be held within the Fair activities.
The 30th Doha International Book Fair will run by January 18.
