Antique version of ‘Masnavi’ to be unveiled in Mashhad

IBNA- On the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Mowlana Jalal al-Din Rumi, a ‎version of his ‘Masnavi-ye Ma’navi’ which dates back to 600 years ago will be unveiled in ‎the Iranian city of Mashhad. ‎
 
According to IBNA correspondent, quoting from ‘Ganjineh Razavi’, this manuscript which was handwritten 15th century A.D. is the most ancient version which is kept in Astan-e Qods Rzavi Library and is one the 267 different manuscripts of the works of this towering figure of Persian poetry and mysticism kept in this place.
 
Deputy of museums and cultural heritage of Astan-e Qods Rzavi Organization Mahdi Qisari-Nik who is also the secretary of the unveiling ceremony said that the event is the 28th program from the series of cultural Tuesdays of Astan-e Qods Rzavi Organization which is scheduled for October 1.

Masnavi-ye-Ma'navi is one of the most influential works of Sufism, commonly called "the Quran in Persian". It has been viewed by many commentators as the greatest mystical poem in world literature.
Masnavi is a series of six books of poetry that together amount to around 25,000 verses or 50,000 lines. It is a spiritual text that teaches Sufis how to reach their goal of being truly in love with God.
