IBNA- The Persian translation of ‘The Curious Enlightenment of Professor Caritat’ which employs storytelling as a method for discussion about Western philosophy schools will be unveiled at a meeting in Tehran on Wednesday.
According to IBNA correspondent, the book with the full title ‘The Curious Enlightenment of Professor Caritat: A Novel of Ideas’
has been translated into Persian by Mani Salehi and released by Niloufar Publishing in Tehran.
The book is a fictional journey through Western political philosophy by one of our most original thinkers. Professor Caritat, a middle-aged Candide, walks naively through the neighboring countries of Utilitaria, Communitaria and Libertaria, in his quest to find the best of all possible worlds. Cut loose from the confines of his ivory tower, this wandering professor is made to confront the perplexed state of modern thinking in this comedy of ideas.
The meeting for unveiling the book- which will be held in the House of Humanities Thinkers in Tehran- will be attended by Ali-Reza Beheshti, a faculty member of Tarbiat Modaress University in Tehran and Hossein Houshmand, a philosophy researcher graduated from Concordia University who will discuss the work.
