Iran’s Culture and Art Week underway in Baku

IBNA- Iran’s Culture and Art Week in Baku, Azerbaijan opened on Wednesday with Iran’s ‎Culture Minister Abbas Salehi and his Azerbaijani counterpart in attendance, and will run ‎until July 1. ‎
According to IBNA correspondent quoting from the public relations department of Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the event is also held in the Azerbaijani city of Ganjeh.

At the opening ceremony of this event, Seyyed Abbas Salehi (Ph.D.) said: “The culture weeks held in the countries are aimed to make people more familiar with the cultures of other nations, but here, it’s also an evidence of empathy between the people of Iran and Azerbaijan.”
“In thousands of years, the people of Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic have shared their joys and sadness and they share common religion, history, traditions and rituals,” he added.

Azerbaijan’s culture Minister Abulfaz Garayev for his part said in this ceremony: “The officials and people of the two countries are in brotherly terms and cultural cooperation will play a central role in deepening such relation.”

He regarded holding the Iranian culture and art exhibition as a valuable gift to Azerbaijani artists and cultural activists.
