Books translation MoU signed between Iran, Malaysia ‎

IBNA- Iran’s Cultural Attaché Office in Kuala Lumpur and the Malaysian National Institute ‎of Translation signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to cooperate on translating ‎books of both countries.‎

According to IBNA correspondent quoting from the Persian website of Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the five-year memorandum of understanding was signed between Iran’s cultural Attaché to Malaysia Ali Mohammad Sabeghi and director of the Malaysian National Institute of Translation Mohd Khair Ngadiron in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

Based on the agreement, several key works of Persian classic and modern literature will be translated into Malayan, and a number of major works from Malayan are supposed to be translated into Persian. The works of 15 classic poets and 15 authors from both languages will be rendered.

Among the works which are planned to be translated are the collected poems of the Iranian eminence poetess Parvin E’tesami. Furthermore, the top Persian work of Sufi mysticism and poetry ‘Masnavi-e Manavi’ by Jalal al-Din Rumi will be reprinted.

A number of mystical pamphlets of the 16th-century Malayan Sufi and poet Hamzah Fansuri have already been translated into Persian by Amir Hossein Zekrgou (Ph.D.) and published in cooperation with the Malaysian National Institute of Translation Iran.
