IBHI to hold international conference on Ibrahim Muteferrika

IBNA- Iran’s Book House Institute (IBHI) will hold “The International Conference on Role of Ibrahim Muteferrika in Islamic World’s Book Publication” in collaboration with Yunus Emre Institute in January.
 
According to IBNA correspondent quoting from the public relations department of Iran’s Book House Institute, IBHI has organized this event in collaboration with Yunus Emre Institute in Ankara.
The conference which will be held at IBHI in Tehran aims to shed a new light on the historical character of Ibrahim Muteferrika as a Turkish cultural figure and activist in print industry. The issue of books he published in Persian will be specially considered.
The event will focus on various subjects such as writings by Ibrahim Muteferrika who was also a polymath and diplomat, the role played by him in the development of Persian language, the launch of print industry in Ottoman Empire, the influence of Ibrahim Muteferrika on print industry in Ottoman Empire, and the impact of his print industry activities on the Islamic countries.
Other subjects which will be observed on the sidelines of “The International Conference on Role of Ibrahim Muteferrika in Islamic World’s Book Publication” are the Iranian writers and publishers in Ottoman Empire, the influence of Persian books published in Ottoman Empire on the Iranian print industry, the published Ottoman books translated into Persian, and the published Persian books translated into Turkish during Ottoman Empire.
Those interested to participate at the conference may submit the abstract of their articles in 500 words, not after November 6 and send the complete articles by December 6, 2017, to muteferrika@ketab.ir.
