Beijing International Book Fair kicks off

IBNA- At a ceremony, the 24th Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) kicked off on Tuesday ‎with the representatives of Iran-as the guest of honor- in attendance.‎
According to IBNA correspondent quoting from the public relations office of  Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI), as well as Chinese officials, the opening ceremony of the 24th Beijing International Book Fair was attended by CEO of  ICFI Amir Mas’oud Shahram-Nia, Head of Islamic Culture and Relations  Organization Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman and Iran’s Ambassador to China Ali Asghar Khaji
Head of Islamic Culture and Relations  Organization said in this ceremony that the development of friendly relations benefits the two nations and contributes to the improvement of peace and progress throughout the world.
“The relation between Iran and China as two great ancient civilizations which have influenced the humane culture dates back to some thousands years ago. This relation has always been imbued with peace and mutual respect,” Torkaman added.     
The 24th Beijing International Book Fair will run until August 27, 201at the Convention Center of Beijing International Hotel.
Iran is participating in the BIBF with the motto “The Colorful Dream of Silk Road” Iran’s stand is located at the entrance of West Hall 2, New China International Exhibition Center (NCIEC), covering an area of 500㎡.
More than 13 Iranian publication institutes and t 3 literary agencies have taken part at the event, moreover, a series of seminars on print industry, book promotion events, writers' dialogues, illustrators' shows and art performance will take place during the book fair.
