Japan eager to be guest of honor in TIBF

IBNA- In a meeting with CEO of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute, the Japanese ‎Ambassador to Tehran Hiroyasu Kobayashi stated his country’s interest to ‎participate at Tehran’s International Book Fair (TIBF) as the guest of honor. ‎
According to IBNA correspondent, quoting from the public relations office of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute, in this meeting Amir Mas’oud Shahram-Nia Referred to the history of Tehran Book Fair and its status compared with other book fairs in the region.
He then accounted for the history of the participation of special guests of Tehran Book Fair in the past four editions and said: “Based on the planned cultural diplomacy, our interaction with international book exhibitions has grown more than ever, and we are well prepared to hold joint literary projects with the agreed countries with the participation of publishers, writers and the activists in this area.”
Appreciating the opportunity provided for Japan in this respect, Mr Kobayashi pointed to the 90th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“We are interested in attending the 31st Tehran International Book Fair and holding joint cultural programs before the beginning of the event,” The Japanese Ambassador to Tehran said.
He referred to the regular participation of Japan at Tehran Book Fair and his last visit to the event. Kobayashi considered his meeting with the officials of the 30th edition of Tehran Book Fair as valuable, and said: “Based on our talks, Japan is ready to participate in one of the future editions of Tehran Book Fair, for instance in 2019 or 2020 as the guest of honor.”
