‘Essays on Plasco Building’ dedicated to Iranian martyred firefighters

IBNA– The book ‘Essays on Plasco Building’, about the recently burned down iconic building of Tehran was published and dedicated to Iranian firefighters martyred during rescue efforts in that place.
According to IBNA correspondent, quoting from the Public Relations and Information Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the book which has been published by the Research Center of Culture, Art and Communications affiliated to the Culture Ministry reflects the views of experts of Iranian sociology about the material and human disaster of Plasco Commercial Building.
Evaluation of different cultural, social and media dimensions of an event that led to the collapse of Plasco Building and the loss of human and financial capital of some Tehrani citizens, gathering the causes of this tragic event and presenting specialized solutions by the social scientist of the country are the reasons for the publication of a book titled ‘Studies in Plasco’.
The book is introduced in a preface written by the Minister of Culture and Islamic guidance, Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri, and tries to show some expectation of what might happen in the future and how making the right decisions can help stop such accidents.
As part of the introduction to this book, we read: “We cannot in any way deny the role of social media in Iran, especially in the field of information, and we must accept that these media have gradually become an inseparable part of the social developments in our country, and that the trend of the recent events shows and predicts that in the near future this group of media will play a more significant and valuable role as well.”
