The most important concern of the Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance is to prosper the bookstores and give a boost to book distribution to revive them once again.”
Referring to the safety-net program for bookshops, Jalisseh stated: “In the past Book Week, the first step taken to support the bookstores was titled “A Bookshop as Vast as Iran” which was conducted for a week. Years after the Islamic Revolution, variety of supports for publishing was carried out, but the bookstores were ignored. Therefore, with the studies done, the plan “New Year Gift of the Book” was implemented throughout the country with the slogan ‘We Present Gifts of Books This Year’.”
