Archbishop: Iran’s National Library a pillar of global culture

IBNA- At a meeting with Iran’s National Library Director, President of Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Family, said: “I believe Iran’s National Library, with its existing books, constitutes one of the pillars of the global culture.”

correspondent, quoting the Public Relations Department of the National Library and Archives Organisation of Iran (NLAI)
, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia the President of the Holy See's Pontifical Council for the Family
and his accompanying delegation visited the National Library of Iran on June 16.
Welcomed by Amin Arefnia, Chairman of the board of directors and Public Relations of the Library, they then visited the different sections of the National Library of Iran as well as the Museum of the Documented and Written Heritage accompanied by the Director of the National Library Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri.
During the meeting with the Archbishop Paglia, Salehi Amiri referred to the history of construction of the National Library and its existing reference capacity and said: “We have good records with the Vatican, and the Iranian society thinks positively about the Vatican as a religious institution of the world.”
He further continued: “You are the President of Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Family which is a significant subject for me since my field of research is cultural studies and I’ve been working on family related issues for a year now and I am interested to draw on your experiences in this area.”
