Salehi meets publishers and booksellers in Kurdistan

IBNA-Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi accompanied by two other directors of this Ministry visited Kurdistan Province in west Iran and met publishers and booksellers.
 
According to IBNA correspondent, quoting from the public relations office of the Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, in this one day trip on Saturday, April 11, 2016, Seyyed Abbas Salehi and his accompanying delegation director of the Office of Books and Reading Promotion and, director of publishing Mahmoud Reza Barazesh visited Toranj and Kal book cafes after attending the opening ceremony of the Quran Exhibition in the Center for Publishing and Book Sales.
While visiting the Publishing Center in Ezzati Passage, Salehi talked with those active in the field of books and publishing in that province as well as the book sellers who spoke on their problems in the field of publishing.
In this visit, he referred to the measures taken by the Deputy of the Cultural Affairs Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to deal with unauthorized downloads of books and said: “We’ve made good coordination with the center for digital media and the judiciary in this respect.”
The Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance promised that a special attention will be paid to the publishing field in Kurdistan and said that he hoped to remove a great part of the concerns of those who are active in producing and distributing books in Kurdistan.
