According to IBNA
correspondent, the unveiling ceremony of ‘Miraas’ Quarterly Review of Books was held today at House of Literati (Sara ye Ahl-e-Qalam). The event was attended by Majid Gholami Jaliseh, the Editor of the journal and CEO of Iran's Book House Institute
, Seyyed Farid Qassemi, Head of Iran Center for Book Studies, Abd ul-Karim Jorbozehdar, Director of Asatir Publications and a group of those engaged with the preparation of this journal.
CEO of Iran’s Book House asserted that review essentially means evaluating and differentiating between the good and the bad. He added: “Unfortunately in our universities, editing and correcting the texts is considered a minor task of lower significance.”
Jalish went on to say: “The basic idea of starting a quarterly journal titled Quarterly Book Review was formed in the Book House last year. By the effort of our friends, fortunately, almost the two first issues of most magazines were published in the final days prior to the New Iranian Year (began on March 22). A few publications are yet to be printed, of course, due to technical problems and I hope we will see them published.
