A memorial service for Doris Lessing will be held at London's St Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square at 3 p.m. on Monday 7th April.
According to the Bookseller, the service will be open to everyone, from fans to literary peers and colleagues.
Charlie Redmayne, c.e.o. of HarperCollins UK, which published Lessing's novels, said: “Doris Lessing was a one of the great writers of our age. She was a compelling storyteller with a fierce intellect and a warm heart who was not afraid to fight for what she believed in.”
The memorial will feature a collection in Lessing’s memory, with proceeds going to Booktrust and the Africa Book Development Organisation.
