London Book Fair Announces Author of the Day

The London Book Fair announced that Sir Terry Pratchett will be its guest as Author of the Day on Tuesday 8 April.
According to the book fair's website, Sir Terry’s work, which is adored by millions of readers worldwide for its genre-defying blend of comedy, fantasy and science fiction, will be the focus of a program of events to celebrate the writer’s place at the heart of the international publishing industry.
Sir Terry Pratchett’s literary influence spans the globe and, through sales of more than 85 million books, in 37 languages, he is often credited as being the impetus in encouraging new generations of readers. Across more than 40 Discworld novels, a collaboration with Neil Gaiman in the novel 'Good Omens,' numerous books for children and his latest 'Long Earth' series written in collaboration with Stephen Baxter, Sir Terry’s unique blend of wit, wisdom and observation have earned him a fan base crossing the 5 five continents. Knighted for services to literature in 2009, Sir Terry has won many prestigious awards including the Carnegie Medal, the World Fantasy Award and many Locus Awards.
