Master Fazlollah Reza, senior electronics and telecommunications scholar, has traveled to Tehran to celebrate his 100th birthday in his home country.

IBNA: Reza is scheduled to attend a ceremony arranged by Tehran University alumni to celebrate his birthday on Wednesday.

He arrived in Imam Khomeini airport on Sunday and will deliver a speech at his birthday anniversary.

Born in Rasht, Reza has served as the head of Sharif University of Technology, University of Tehran, Iran's ambassador to Canada and Iran's ambassador to UNESCO. As a professor, he has taught at MIT, McGill University, and University of Tehran.

Professor Reza graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Tehran in 1938, receiving a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

He received a master's and PhD in electrical engineering from Columbia University in 1946 and Polytechnic University of New York in 1950 respectively.

He is a Fellow of the IEEE and AAAS for his contribution to network and information theory.

Reza has also penned numerous scholarly articles and books of which 'An Introduction to Information Theory' (Dover Books on Mathematics) is one of the most revered ones.
