IBNA: This poetry collection involves works by various poets from Croatia, Germany, Italy, Austria, Czech and Spain.

Khosro Naghed, translator of the book, has chosen the poems by themes like war, violence, death and loneliness of modern man explained directly or indirectly through the lines.

However, Naghed prefers to be called the collector and re-creator of these poems rather than a mere translator. "Collecting and recreating the present poems, have been gradually made within few years. I say 'recreation' and not 'translation' simply because a poem never surrenders to translation," writes Naghed in the foreword to the volume.

The cover design contains a work by German graphist Karl George Hirsch who is known for his book illustrations.

Naghed is the translator of Karl Popper's "Utopie und Gewalt: Essays und Interviews", Erich Fried's "Liebesgedichte im Zeitalter der Gewalt Gedichte", and Federico Garcia Lorca's "A la sombra de la luna y la muerte".

"Apple and Soldier: Poems Beyond the Horror" are converted into Persian by Khosro Naghed and published by Morvarid Publications in 106 pages.
